Your Sunday, with a little more scenery.
How to make a football weekend out of your coastal getaway.
Fall has a way of bringing us back to the things we look forward to every year: crisp mornings, walks along the water, favorite foods, beach bonfires, and gathering around the TV for game day.
But when you're traveling, it's easy to miss the traditions you usually share at home. Maybe your favorite team is playing while you're out to dinner. Maybe the game starts three hours earlier than you're used to. Or maybe you simply didn't think you'd be able to catch it.
At Hickory Row, we think your getaway should make room for those moments, too. And because no two weekends look the same, your stay can be curated around the game you want to see.

Game Day Your Way
Your favorite team doesn't have to stay home just because you did.
Tell us which game you're watching, and we'll help make room for it in your weekend. Settle in with your favorite snacks and watch from the comfort of your room or take the game outside to our back patio.
And because the best getaways leave room for spontaneity, you don't have to plan your entire day around kickoff. Start with coffee by the water. Explore the coast. Grab lunch somewhere local. Then come back in time for the game.
Make Fall Part of the Getaway
Football might be part of your weekend, but it doesn't have to be the whole plan.
Fall on the North Carolina coast invites you to slow down and spend a little more time outside. Start the morning with a slow walk along the water, explore a nearby coastal town, or take to the water for a paddle before the afternoon game. The beaches are quieter this time of year, making it easier to wander and settle into your own pace.
As the sun begins to set, come back to Hickory Row for an oceanfront bonfire. Wrap up in a blanket, warm up by the fire, and listen to the waves as the evening settles in and the games begin.
For the One Who Isn't Watching
The best getaways leave room for spontaneity, and not everyone has to watch the game to enjoy game day.
Reserve a private beach lounge and make the afternoon your own while staying right beside your loved one. Settle into a plush beach blanket with a coffee and pastry, a coastal charcuterie or seafood board, and a good book from Hickory Row's reading library. Sip a fresh juice or craft mocktail, spend some time journaling, or indulge in an in-lounge massage while the waves roll in. For late night, share a dessert board, then light your bonfire for something sweet with the sound of the ocean in the background.
Same beach. Same weekend. Your own kind of game day.
